I Am Praying for You Alabama

Compassion, empathy, inspired aspirations,

What it means to be humane in any great Nation.

Every heart has a beat,

Every body has a soul.

Seek the best in one another,

Don’t settle for what you are told.

The emancipation proclamation signed in 1863,

Took two years to reach slaves in Texas,

Announcing they were free.

It was Galveston June 19th in 1865,

Official notice was given,

When Union soldiers finally arrived.

Thinking of our world today,

As a people we continue to lag behind.

Receiving vital information and opportunity,

Often late and useless by design.

In spite of it all Brothers and Sisters,

We stand together from every walk of life.

Realizing opportunity keeps knocking,

And for some of us more than twice.

Maybe it was within a dream, like a subtle motivation,

Or possibly an opportunity requiring trust and innovative collaboration.

One truth seems to prevail,

As we gather in thought today.

Generations before us KEPT MOVING FORWARD,

Often with the ultimate price to pay.

I’ve heard some recently suggest

That somehow Ancestors are to blame.

Such ignorance has no merit,

The mere suggestion seems insane.

We are the face of the future,

With bodies resilient and strong.

History is a witness of our greatness,

And the entire world knows we belong.

So RISE UP brothers and sisters,

Breaking shackles of the body and mind.

Stand as ONE and KNOW YOUR PURPOSE,

The world presents opportunity,

United in action, this is our time!

Once Brother Marvin asked WHATS GOING ON,

And Brother James said I’m Black and I’m Proud.

Sista Aretha proclaimed R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

It’s time FOR OUR words with actions to SAY IT LOUD!

What’s yours is yours, NOW, my People,

And it can never be denied.

Juneteenth became our DAY OF LIBERATION.

LET US STAND AND NEVER EVER WAIVER, With Integrity, Intelligence and PRIDE!

I am not anxious anymore. There is an inner peace that comforts me, a trusting security, because now, with the blessing of your love, there are no missing pieces in my life. From the fragments of two hearts once broken, together we have found the very best that love could ever be. In this moment you must know that our love is everything to me. There is perfection in the friendship that is the foundation of what we share. An indescribable connection, that comforts me, the way you care. You listen with your heart, you speak with your spirit, and when I need to feel your presence it manifest daily in endless acts of loving kindness.  Through winding trails of happiness and pain, self discovery and new adventures, we have expanded the realms of friendship and understanding.  Each day the sun rises illuminating a love with power deeper than ocean currents of the pacific and a future together that is brighter than flawless stars that sparkle in the desert sky.  I now see life as it was intended to be, because you have learned how to bring out the very best of me. We have become the best of friends that are now blessed with a love I can only define as Divine.  For that reason my life, our life, will forever be a prayer of thanksgiving. Others can only dream, of what your love for me sincerely means, and I will never take one breath for granted as we now join in sacred vows. When you hurt I want to feel your pain, when your heart sings with happiness mine will reply in the refrain, and I know God above will listen to the sounds of joy that will be our prayer. I am not anxious anymore. There is an inner peace that comforts me, a trusting security, because now, with the blessing of your love, there are no missing pieces in my life. The power of your love has opened the door of my heart to heal and I know only the grace of heaven above could have made me feel this way. I want to reciprocate with my actions and together we will both know the satisfaction of the comfort that comes when two hearts find love in God’s time. You are the friend I have always desired, you are the love that I know God inspired.  In the intimacy of words forever written to express, I pledge my heart, my soul, my best. I want all the world to know, there are no missing pieces anymore, now that I know, my love for you.
